LAKEWATCH
From May 2007 to March 2010, LAKEWATCH volunteers collected water samples from 6 of our 10 ponds, and for 3 locations in the 54th Avenue N. canal.

Sample data has been collected for Lake(s) #1 Constance,  #4 Lucerne, #6 Egret, #7 Placido, #8 Heron, and #10 Flamingo.  Four of this ponds have direct connections to the canals on the north and south side of our community, which lead to Tampa Bay.

The Florida LAKEWATCH Program allows us to monitor the four water chemistry parameters that scientists use to determine a waterbody's ability to support life.  These parameters are total chlorophyll, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, and water clarity.  Two residents have donated canoes to this group of volunteers.  The test supplies are donated by the Floridaa LAKEWATCH Program.  The only cost to the Placido Bayou Community Association was the very valuable resident volunteer hours.  Thank you to all the PBCA residents who participated!
